About Us
So, how did the universe conspire to bring us together to spark the beginning of Honeycomb Studios and HEX?
Whatever forces were at play, we often say how lucky we are that our paths crossed in Battersea, London, at Pi Studios, on one fairly ordinary day in June 2024.
Meet Rosie
I trained in a Classical Pilates Full Comprehensive course at Pi Studios in Battersea, London, under Holly Murray. At some point, Holly (Pi owner) asked me if I would be interested in helping out with some administrative work at Pi on the business end of things. This evolved into full-on management and coordination of the studio, ultimately leading to a Head of Operations role- which I currently maintain.
What I have loved most about this work is engaging with teachers from all different backgrounds, playing a part in navigating the growth of the business, but most of all; talking future and current apprentices through their decisions to pursue a classical training.
Behind the scenes at Pi, I learned a TON about the back end of running a business, and felt increasingly compelled to start something of my own one day. Honeycomb Studios was initially inspired by my interactions with apprentices and clients through my admin role at Pi. I was regularly hearing from people in the classical community all over the world (a client travelling to Brussels asking if I knew of any studios there, or an apprentice in Japan wondering if she could use our studio space to practice for a few days during a visit to the UK).
Some were curious about Teacher Training at Pi, and others wanted general advice on how to make sure they were finding, training, and working in a Classical space wherever they were in the world. They all seemed far less connected than they could be! I witnessed a patchwork global community fleeting through the walls of our studio and others - and kept thinking about how wonderful it might be to try and unite everybody.
One of my biggest joys in practicing and teaching Pilates has been meeting new people and learning their stories in a way that goes far beyond what I ever expected from this path. I also have a deep love for traveling, and feel very inspired to connect and meet people from all over the globe through this project.
Beyond Pilates, I enjoy being outside, coxing for rowing teams, reading, and spending time with the people I love. I hope that your time here introduces you to some awesome people, and helps support you in whatever phase you find yourself.

Meet Leila
I fell into Classical Pilates by complete accident, and haven’t looked back since. During my last year of undergrad I used to book into Pilates classes near to campus in an attempt to force me to get to the library and work on my masters applications. During one of those days when filling out the masters application, I was prompted with the simple question; “Why do you want to undertake this degree”. The honest answer, at least at the time, to delay working. When I took a look at my life and what truly brought me joy, Pilates had taken on a huge role and I knew I wanted to explore it further.
This led me to my classical comprehensive training with Equinox - a studio I chose because I was aware of its popularity in the States and its proximity to my flat in London. I will never forget the first seminar day, looking at the training manual and wondering where all the lunges and pulses were, and what on earth ‘Stomach Massage’ was. It was then that I entered the world of Classical Pilates.
Beyond Pilates, in the last few years fitness has taken on an ever growing role in my life, most recently I completed HYROX London Olympia alongside my cousin in a mixed doubles category - basically a fitness event made up of running/functional workout stations. Combining HIIT/Strength Training alongside Pilates has been extremely complimentary in my own training, and so when Rosie approached me about creating a fitness space dedicated to this - it was a no brainer.
In a full circle turn of events, our largest project, the worldwide directory of classical pilates studios takes me back to my undergrad roots as a Human Geographer. A degree that I thought would never be used lays the foundation of our work at Honeycomb studios.
During my time hunting and mapping studios (while I'm sure I missed a few my first time around) I was able to draw on my experience from my final year dissertation where I mapped Lebanese restaurants around London in an attempt to highlight a global diaspora.
From Vision to Reality
How we met

In June 2024, Rosie was working behind the desk at Pi, when Leila walked in to demonstrate her teaching as a part of a job interview. Rosie volunteered as her body, and the two personable and even-keeled personalities got along quite well.
Once Leila officially joined the team at Pi, the two of us gradually connected - sharing studio time, and sending a growing sense of creative alignment. As Honeycomb Studios began to evolve from a distant idea into a real possibility, Rosie knew she wanted a co-creator, and Leila was the first person who came to mind.
Leila didn’t hesitate. She brought her undeniable energy, vision, and excitement to the project - and from that point on, the pieces started falling beautifully into place. The rest, as they say, is history.
